Aren't we all a bit delusional at times? I'm from Europe (I don't know why I get involved in American politics discussions).

But I wonder:

Can it really be that 50% of a population are just idiots that have no reasonable point whatsoever.

People with a smaller frame of understanding will jump up on both sides. They get emotional and act out in unfortunate ways.

From how you write, I figured you have the capability to choose a position against further polarization. You might have valid reasons not to, but I still think it's the wrong approach.
