Aren’t you being a little harsh?

I don’t judge my ancestors for throwing all kinds of stuff into lakes. Because they simply didn’t know, that it was a bad thing to do. How could they?

They learned, they changed and now we have don’t have the same problem anymore. I’m actually even impressed. Someone found time to fix it, while building wealthier and healthier living standards for the whole country.

There are countless people trying to clean the oceans and finding solutions to other problems. You just have to look!

Focusing on the wrong is exactly what makes countries abandon their CO2 agreements.

“Why should I do something if ‘Country’ doesn’t?”

Summary:

I feel more resignation coming from this text than what makes sense to me. Or at least I don’t get how that’s supposed to help.

As my Bball-Coach once put it:

“Either you’re elevating the others or pulling them down. There is no attitude in between.”
